Improved Sexual Health and Rights Advocacy Initiative (ISHRAI) seeks to recruit and hire competent personnel in the following categories.


Job Title: Psychologist

Location: Lagos

Job Type: Part Time Position Summary

This position provides specialized services to staff and participants of the ISHRAI Program.

The employee in this position will provide consultation and counseling for individuals and group as needed.

S/he will make referral for further therapy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides consultation on a twice weekly basis to ensure in depth problem solving and quality assurance of overall clinical care.
  • Provides consultation on a weekly basis regarding individual and group psychotherapy programming, as needed, as determined by the program model
  • Reports to supervisor and program manager on consultations and training’s
  • Coordinates and collaborates with staff on potential participants to be referred to therapy
  • Participates in participant reviews as per Quality improvement Plan
  • Participates in advocacy, crisis intervention, counseling and problem solving ina variety of areas for program participants
  • Establishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship within the professional standards and confidentiality laws. Develops, implements, and follows-up with participant treatment plans to ensure that realistic goals are being set and accomplished
  • Maintains documentation of individual and group therapy participants
  • Maintains the volume of work designated by program standards and utilizes mental health theory and concepts in clinical practice
  • Participates in program meetings and presents at clinical case reviews
  • Adheres to professional standards as outlined by governmental bodies
  • Provides periodic evaluative reviews and(or in-house and external staff training to ensure that staff understand and continue to adhere to such standards
  • Initiates requests for assistance or guidance from Supervisor to address new issues or complex concepts affecting adherence to professional standards.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology or equivalent Clinical Degree and four to five years of clinical practice experience in either a hospital, community mental health setting, private practice, or educational setting, providing group and/or individual therapy. Supervisory experience preferred.
  • PhD in Psychology will be an added advantage

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals,professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public


Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram,or schedule form.
  • Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Licensed Clinical Psychologist preferred.

Job Title: Nurse Case Manager (Care and Support)

The incumbent serves as a focal person for case management and ensures clients are properly linked to service delivery points and appropriate care is provided. Incumbent act as social workers, advocate patient welfare, and serve as a liaison between clients, their families, and OSS service providers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for establishing and sustaining referral linkages with prevention team to ensure optimal linkage rate into treatment for all identified HIV positive client
  • Coordinate individualized social and family integration care with clients
  • Follow up and ensure the retention of clients on ART treatment
  • Support client enrolment on ART
  • Support the care, treatment and support services for the HIV positive clients
  • Serves as focal person to coordinate care and support activities for PLWHA KP in conjunction with our funders
  • Serves as gender-based management focal person at the state level
  • Support STIs management and management of other co-morbidities within and outside the OSS
  • Ensures clinical care records are collated and submitted in a timely manner
  • Serves as paraprofessional in providing trauma-informed mental health services
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree or RN in Nursing/Midwifery. Must be Registered with Nurses and Midwifery Council of Nigeria
  • At least two years clinical experience as a social worker/Nurse, strong skills in record keeping.
    Developing and updating client case files and tracking the client’sprogress.
  • Experience providing community-based care and support services for individuals living with HIV/AIDS is a plus.
  • Able to provide compassionate care in a supportive non-judgmental manner

Job Title: Facility Manager

The Facility Manager is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, comfortable, and supportive environment for residents, which provides temporary emergency housing for victims of Domestic and Sexual Violence.


  • Assist Safehouse residents with basic needs
  • Provide direct victim services that may include:
  • Support counseling with Safehouse Residents
  • Follow up contact through in-person contacts, telephone contacts or written communications
  • Crisis Hotline counseling
  • Providing information and referrals
  • Maintain case records and summary logs. Complete reports as directed.
  • Follow and enforce established policy and procedures with the residents of the shelter.
  • Filling in staff schedule as needed to maintain 24 hour coverage of the Safehouse shelter.
  • Assist as necessary to maintain the shelter in regulatory status including cleaning of the facility.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all Regulations.
  • Accept other duties as assigned by the Safehouse Director.
  • Accept any other duties as deemed necessary by the Commanding Officers.



  • High school diploma, SSCE with one year relevant experience.
  • Good communications skills.
  • A good understanding of program needs.
  • A strong willingness to improve self and to help others.
